Prewire

Prewire is the one part of home technology you cannot add cheaply later. Done right, it is invisible, labeled and ready for equipment that has not been invented yet.

Ladder and boxes of Wirepath wire in a home at the framing stage

Overview

We run and terminate cabling for network, speakers, video, control, cameras and access points to the locations in the design. Every run is labeled at both ends and recorded, and we walk the site with the builder before insulation and drywall.

Extra conduit and spare pulls are planned where a future upgrade is likely, such as a theater, an outdoor kitchen or a wall that will hold a large display.

  • Cat6 / Cat6A network cabling
  • Speaker and subwoofer cabling
  • HDMI and video conduits
  • Camera and access-point pulls
  • Keypad and control wiring
  • Labeled as-built documentation
  • Pre-drywall walkthrough

What a typical project looks like

  1. 1. Consultation

We talk through the home, the rooms, your priorities and a budget range.

  2. 2. Design

Systems, locations and wiring are planned on paper, ideally before construction.

  3. 3. Install

Wiring goes in at the right stage, then equipment is installed and programmed.

  4. 4. Handoff

We walk you through the system and stay available for questions and support.

Frequently asked questions

Can prewire be done on a remodel?

Yes, where walls are open or accessible. In finished homes we look at attics, crawlspaces and chases first; some rooms may need wireless or surface solutions.

What if the electrician or builder already ran some wire?

We review what is in place, keep what is usable, and document what was added so the plan stays accurate.
